We use this space to showcase activity fromprevious challenges, and to talk about the positive impacts the activity had. We also showcase activity that has happened in the community project that was funded as a result of the challenge being met.
You exceeding our expectations when it came to volunteering and taking positive actions, as hundreds of you not only signed up to volunteer days but also explored our Themes for actions to take that would make your lifestyle more sustainable.
Here's a little taster of what went on...
Our leaderboard showed activity across the teams and Team 1 held the top spot throughout the challenge.
Our other award winners were:
Louise Smith from Team 4 for Butterfly Spirit
Alyson Thomson from Team 11 for being our Action Hero
Nicola Hares for being our Top Points scorer overall
That's a lot of impact...
We award points based on four factors: time invested, costs of taking the action, visibility of the action (for inspiring others) and direct impact on a given them (forests, rivers etc). To bank such a huge number of points shows the level of commitment made by ou - our challenge participants.
316.5 days of volunteering is a lot of time donated to helping local groups. And we believe it is just the tip of the iceberg, with many more days delivered than we managed to capture, so in the next challenge we'll be trying to capture even more.
Your favourite actions were…Buying Free Range Eggs and taking shorter showers. Plus, loads of you took a staycation, enjoying a holiday right here in the UK.
Your favourite themes were... Rivers and Forests, actions from these two themes were firm favourites amongst you. In terms of volunteering themes, Young People and Enterprise were also very popular.
