As a social enterprise, The Butterfly Bank will invest a percentage of its profits in creating our own Butterfly Bank Branches that benefit local communities and nature. Our aim is to increase the percentage of profit we invest in our branches in line with our continued growth and success.

Every person who opens a Butterfly Bank Account will be taking a positive step towards a sustainable and ethical life. The Butterfly Bank will work to develop and grow the awareness of our account holders through continuously creating actions, large and small, that educate and support their efforts.

Sustainable Suppliers

The Butterfly Bank will aim to work with suppliers who have comprehensive ethics and sustainability policies in place. Where a need arises to work with suppliers who do not have a satisfactory policy in place, The Butterfly Bank will encourage and support the supplier to improve their ethical position as part of working with us. Where possible we will always approach local suppliers first.

A travel hierarchy is in place:

Private transport
All journeys will be pre-planned to ensure maximum value is gained

A meetings hierarchy is in place to minimise travel impacts through:

Skype or equivalent
Phone or conference call
Face to face
Paper

The Butterfly Bank will minimise paper use by:

Minimal print policy
Scrap paper system
Double sided printing
Where paper is used it will be FSC accredited and recycled Paper

Energy:

Power use by The Butterfly Bank will be consciously monitored and adapted

Printing:

The Butterfly Bank has established relationships with two of the UK's leading waterless and ethical printers
